Bollhusgränd 3A (Ball Courts Lane), Gamla Stan (Old Town), Stockholm • ca. 1620
This baroque doorway is located on one of the oldest lanes of the Old Town. The name indicates that an indoor sports hall once stood here. Two sleepy lions look down from the lintels and at the same time protect the coats of arms of Privy Councilor Per Banér and his wife Effa Fleming.
Photographer: Terry LeBlanc of Giclee Stockholm.
The streets of Stockholm are so narrow that it’s often impossible to get a shot of the entire doorway. Terry has developed a mixed media technique to combine elements of the scene into one image, which is explained here on her website.
